SIRENA
SIRENA is a decolonial mermaid – a character born out of injustice and human-inflicted violence, embodying resistance through water. She performs a poem between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, collecting artifacts carried by these waters. Through the refrain “My white body entering the Black Sea,” the mermaid confronts personal, racial, cultural, and ecological oppression, exposing both fear and belonging.
