Liminal Crossings

The project with research subject the urban environment, examines the possibilities offered by artistic practices from the field of audiovisual arts in combination with site-specific actions. The aim of this combined approach is the exploration of the urban public space based on a hybrid environment of spatial experiences. The action involves an interdisciplinary and inter-artistic approach to understanding the properties of the urban environment through the practice of urban wandering (flânerie) and the personal (in-situ) experience of a place. The artistic work relates to a phenomenological exploration of the urban fabric, beyond a usual visual-centric approach. More specifically, in the context of the action, visitors interact with a hybrid mixed reality environment that deepens the physical space with three-dimensional binaural soundscapes.
