Open Call for Participation in the Live Performances of the 7th IFPA

Open Call for Participation in the Live Performances of the 7th International Forum of Performance Art (IFPA)

September 25 – 28, 2025 / Drama, Greece

Theme: Homoio-topias / “return to the chōra”

“In Plato’s Timaeus, ‘chora’ is an intermediate essence – a transformative space where Ideas take on physical form. A site of transition, becoming, and consciousness. A political and ontological act of return. This year’s theme draws inspiration from this Platonic notion of ‘chora’ as a space of embodied thought and creative emergence. The ‘homoio-topias’ are formed through the intersections of various heterotopias—local or digital, real or imaginary. Within them, performance becomes a living body of meaning, reinvention, and re-inhabitation.”Ioannis Mitrou, Artistic Director of IFPA

As part of this year’s edition, the International Forum of Performance Art (IFPA) invites artists and collectives from Greece and abroad to submit proposals for live performances.

Submitted works are expected to engage creatively with the central theme: “Homoio-topias / return to chora”, reflecting on issues of transition, identity, language, the body, memory, ritual, and the (re)inhabitation of space—whether physical or immaterial. We welcome experimental, interdisciplinary, and hybrid formats that explore the boundaries of performance and propose new performative languages.

Guidelines for Submission:

  • The proposed performance must not exceed 45 minutes
  • Submissions must include the following:
    • Title and a short description of the performance (up to 300 words)
    • Artist biography (up to 200 words)
    • A brief portfolio or link to previous work
  • Proposals will be evaluated by the Artistic Director  of IFPA.

Deadline for submissions: June 15th, 2025
